Emma set up Gems Performing Arts in 2011, which Rachael first joined as the Saturday singing teacher. By 2016 Gems had gone from strength to strength with its highly established Saturday school, hugely popular Holiday Clubs, as well as birthday parties, workshops and more. The pair decided to set up Stars, where Rachael now focuses on running school clubs, as well as Holiday Clubs and Thursday Theatre Company in South West London. The two companies continue to work very closely together, and combined they now successfully run After School and Lunch time Clubs in over 15 schools around London.
We are not a franchise. We are proud to be a young, local company designed for local children. We are a fresh, diverse team with a passion for teaching and a drive to watch students grow in confidence and ability in a supportive environment. We aim to have a personal relationship with all students, teachers and parents to ensure that we can provide feedback to help towards the development of students. We also believe in fair pricing, as want every child to have the opportunity to join us.
We are very proud of our teachers, who are working professionals in the Performing Arts industry. All of our teachers have a passion for teaching, and relish sharing their expertise, guidance and experience to help young people grow and develop. All of our teachers are DBS checked, covered by Insurance, and comply with the Stars Safeguarding policy. It is Stars Performing Arts Clubs policy to comply with Every Child Matters.
Why performing arts?
We believe in the power of performing arts. Whether your child wants to have a career on the stage, or simply wants to have fun, gain some useful life skills and make new friends, we welcome everyone. Benefits include: Expressing oneself and making mistakes in a safe, friendly environment; learning to be independent and think for oneself; building confidence and self-esteem; listening to others and sharing; discipline, focus and concentration.
